New Hedgehog Garden Empty New Hedgehog Garden

Well, as you may know I have now moved house to a different location.

The garden is fantastic, I spent all of yesterday making it more wildlife friendly.

There was a lot of rubbish left in the garden from the previous tennets, which I removed. I found yoghurt pots that would be a great danger to Hedgehogs, I soon got rid of them!

I also made a log pile for insects out of bits of tree that were left lying around. Then I made a compost heap from grass cuttings and other such like waste, all havens for insects that Hedgehogs eat!

Then I made a bird table out of a big tree stump that I found, this will be for ground feeding birds such as Dunnocks and Song Thrushes.

I have just made a plastic Hedgehog box, I cut a square hole in it with a saw and then filed the sharp sides down. This has gone down the bottom of the back garden, where it will have a best chance of being used.

Lots more work to do though!!

Bethany.

Thanks Trish.

I have just been down to the garden center (now 2 minutes away) and bought 3 bags of bird seed, a seed feeder and a bird table. All to spoil the birds. And I've heard that Hedgehogs will sometimes take bird seed.
