Strimmer Campaign
Supporting the Epping Forest Strimmer Campaign!
The Strimmer... Intended for cutting the Long Grass, many people use Strimmers to do just that, little do they know is that they are being a Mechanical menace- killing sleeping Hedgehogs!
More and more gardeners are using strimmers and lawnmowers- to cut long grass, but despite everything, many Hedgehogs are maimed and even killed. When the people decide to strim the long grass, Sleeping, nesting or Hibernating Hedgehogs don't run away from the noise, they curl up into a tight Ball, which is no protection against such a Machine, they may sustain serious injuries and may have half their body missing. As a result they may die in excruciating pain, from a serious, nasty infection, from loosing blood or from the horrible pain it's self, a slow painful death. And all the just because some careless person could not be bothered to check. - Hedgehog Rescue Centres all over Britain are getting sick and tired of this and so am I, I have been looking after a Hedgehog with missing spines due to a strimmer Injury as well.
Check Long Grass With A Hand Or Foot Before You Commence!

Re: Strimmer Campaign
I think that something really do needs to be done about this. Too many hae died because of careless people who just wont check the long grass. I hope with it being Autumn that people will stop using the darn things!
I just think of all those that have died for no reason :pale: And as you said, by 2025, they could be gone. We're not going the right way if we want to keep them here, are we?
I sure hope that something can be done soon! Like a sticker on the strimmer to remind the people. But, sadly it's all about money these Days.

Re: Strimmer Campaign
Too many people are in a rush to get things done, so don't stop to think to check.
