Another hog found

Just had phone call to go and pick up a large hog as he out in the daylight and shaking badly. Dont know much more yet will pick up later, he is being kept in the warm at the moment.

Hopefully warmth will do it the world of good, let us know how he/she is.

Well I got this so called large hog, it weighs 325g looks quite well, not yet unrolled I have not even seen his nose, when hes calmed down we might see more off him, hope this time I get a female, its in the warm, food and water ready.

With you dedication, I'm hoping this one will make it.

This one as had a good feed and a drink, hes eaten more in one night than my last one in one month.
This morning he weighs 246g he like whiskers chicken, will leave it a couple of days to settle in then will worm him.

he sounds good ron. i've been leaving mine a while before worming etc and it seems to work better. sometimes i think thye need time to settle in and the less stress the better.

just a quick update on the new hog, I have now had him 7 days and he now weighs 410g up 85g in a week. I wish they were all this easy, not yet got round to worming him yet will try and start him tonight with some on his food.

If he is doing well without worming him then don't do it.
Routinely worming animals can do more harm than good.

I hace decided to worm him as he stopped putting on weight and had developed a cough. After 5 days of panacure his weight had gone up to 511g, still got a little cough.

Good news about the weight, not sure what to do about the cough.

Good luck with the cough Ron, hope that soon gets better. Well done with his weight gain, at least there is some good in this.

He as still got a little cough and is a little weezy when breathing but is still a lovely hog to have around, only one other problem I had with him, well not so much with him but with the rest of the house hold was the smell when his box was opened to clean him out, the smell had them running for their bedrooms. But now have changed his food for dried food and the smell as gone, just got to find another way to get kids to bed. And is weight is now 590g.

Sorry to hear he still has his cough, but he is gaining weight which is good!

Tell the children if they don't go to bed properly you will put him back on the food that makes him stinky!!
