I have Spikey Norman, found him as a very small hog about 5 years ago and have cared for him ever since. He has NEVER left our garden! Now through circumstances beyond my control I have to move and Spikey just can't come-dillema-can I let him go in the wild? Will he cope? Any thoughts from anybody out there? Whatever is decided will be sad, just want to do the best thing for Spikes! I am in Eastbourne East Sussex sad2 .

As long as he is not disabled then he should be able to be released back in to the wild.

I once looked after a Hedgehog for about 2 years, and it was then returned to the wild, where it did just fine. I'm sure Spikey will do just as well.

Good luck,

Bethany.

If he has got very used to you and not scared, it would be wise to withdraw a bit so he reverts to being wary of people. Still put food out, but keep quiet etc.
