Got Another

Just got out 5th Hedgehog today.
A small female, 334grams.
She was found by a women who was worried when she saw her out in the day.

Apart from being a bit small, she seems ok. Very young too, me thinks.
Anyway I'll let you know the out come. keep you updated and that.

Hi Hedgehog. Have not spoken in a while.

Glad it is just the underweight problem, nothing too serious. But you never know, do you?
Where have you get her right now, etc.

She is currently in a card board box on a heat pad. I have fed her some IAMS cat meat and a drink of water. Hope she eats soon.

You are doing the best you can so far.
Cardboard is not ideal, as they chew it and can get out, plus when they wee and poo it all soaks through, into a bit of a stinky mess. But if you have no where else to keep her then it will do for now.

I have heard a lot of bad things about IAMS, that it is not good to give Hedgehogs. In my research I have heard all sorts.
I would change the food. It does not have to be expensive or anything.

aww, good luck with her.
when i use cardboard boxes i put brown tape all along one end,where the food bowls etc go and that way spillages don't soak through the box.

Beth, I will stop using the IAM. Have just looked up what you said and you are right.
I will move her in to a plastic box asap.

she is doing fine. Put on a bit of weIght, 5 grams. if she continues at this rate, then I think she is very, very lucky.

Any ideas for a name?
