any ideas??
need some ideas for a leaflet on hedgehogs that i can put together, just basic, that i can take to the schools etc,as this seems to be where they are seeing the most hogs out and not doing anything about it it breaks my heart everytime someone tells me they've seen a hog out in day daytime/wobbly/small etc etc and just left it.my nephew told me today that they saw a small hog in his school and they were told to just leave it alone!
if they have some guidance maybe they will ring me instead of leaving the poor things with no help what-so-ever.
any ideas/facts/info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: any ideas??
If you go to http://www.britishhedgehogs.org.uk/FAQS/faqhome.htm there are loads of leaflets on there that would give you some ideas
Re: any ideas??
Yeah, it is a good idea to keep it basic with children, so they remember it. The facts I would give are that Hedgehogs are nocturnal, they are Britains only spiney mammal etc etc.
And also give some advice about what to do if they see a Hedgehog, like tell an adult or somthing.
Ron's link should be of great help.
Bethany.

Re: any ideas??
cheers will check that out later.
the worrying thing is,i think it needs to be directed more at the adults,as they seem to be clueless and the kids i've spoke to know more and question why hogs are out in the day!?

Re: any ideas??
I do a talk in school every year to Year 4 - they take the message home so it gets round that way.
Adults sometimes need simple information too, everything we know is a bit much for some!!

Re: any ideas??
i would love to be able to go into schools and do a talk of some sort, but they just aren't interested it drives me mad and my daughter too, shes asked me if she can look after one of the hogs we've got at home in her room,so i've agreed with monitoring and shes going to keep a diary and take it into school to show her teacher, maybe that'll stoke some interest!

Re: any ideas??
well i made a basic leaflet
took them to the school yesterday, the junior school said they would pass it on to the head teacher and maybe he could do a talk in assembly, wish i'd made a more detailed one now! but its still good news that they're showing an interest
my daughter now wants me to trawl all around our local area and give one to all the schools, hat, gloves and scarf needed methinks
also my sister-in-law sells handbags etc at fetes etc so shes going to give some out too, i could be in for a busy time!!
